Options Players Hone in on iShares Silver Trust

NEW YORK (AVAFIN) -- A record number of iShares Silver Trust call contracts were traded during the busy trading session. There were 3.0 call contracts traded for each put contract yielding a 0.33 put/call ratio where 19,672 put and 59,469 call contracts exchanged hands.

The skewed options ratio suggests that traders are re-balancing their portfolios in anticipation of a price shift. Unusual volume activity directly reflects investor outlook and confirms that a stock move is imminent.

Shares of SLV closed at $30.43 during the previous session. During the session, the stock hit a low of $30.29 and high of $30.65. The current trading volume of 5M is less than average volume of 11M shares. SLV is trading below the 50 day moving average and higher than the 200 day moving average. The stock's 52 week low is $25.34 and 52 week high is $36.44. Within the last month, shares of SLV have lost -1.77% of their value.
