NEW YORK (AVAFIN) -- ProShares UltraShort S&P500 options contracts experienced a low put/call ratio during today's trading session. The aggregate volume of put contracts versus call contracts equated to 0.22. Respectively, 7,513 put and 33,409 call contracts exchanged hands yesterday.

The ratio skew implies that investors are hedging their positions in anticipation of a stock move. Today's unusual volume activity confirms that traders are re-balancing their portfolios.

SDS is trading below the 50 day moving average and lower than the 200 day moving average. Shares of ProShares UltraShort S&P500 closed at $16.16, down $0.34 (2.04%) in the last trading session. Today's volume of 19M shares is greater than the average volume of 19M shares.
